Getting the diagnosis of a new medical condition can feel unsettling, especially when your career depends on your health status.  When an airman is diagnosed with a new medical condition, in the vast majority of cases, it is not the end of their flying career. 

 

The FAA has set up standards for providing clarity on different medical conditions in regard to flight safety.  As a specialist in complex aeromedical certifications, I strive to assist airmen with the FAA medical certification process.  My goal is to minimize your down time from the cockpit.  Recognizing that the FAA's focus is on safety goes a long way to understanding the Special Issuance process.

My philosophy is that it is important to get it right the first time and I work to make that happen.  Before submitting your medical exam application to the FAA, I will work with you to address all the required testing and arrange all the necessary documentation.  Again, my goal is to keep you flying and I have found that this is the most efficient way to minimize any down time.
